Our history was born with the world; nature and its beauties are the protagonists.
There will be many and many emotions able to bring the careful reader to enter the history in order to deeply experience all the colours of this adventure.
How to enjoy this fairytale in the reality?
There is just an incredible, unique and rare place which is able to make you experience this dream. That place is Sila National Park.
In these striking places, the careful traveller will catch past and future that coexist here, experience suggestive journeys and shift from dreams and reality on the thin borderline of the historical memory.
At the top, there are mild hills, going up towards the first Silan buttresses, where you find lost and dozy villages, rich in historical wonders testified by the valuable traces of the past: here is San Giovanni in Fiore, with its majestic Abbey which is still today a living masterpiece enlivened by the Joachimite thought, and then Taverna which jealously preserve invaluable works of Mattia Preti.
Going on, you will find Zagarise, Albi, Magisano and Petronà with their ancient hamlets and the net of museums telling of past civilizations.
Surrounded by mountains, here is Longobucco with its typical manufacture of silvers and looms. All along our path, we meet Aprigliano, Acri, Bocchigliero, Pedace and Serra Pedace, which are proud and industrious villages.
In this fairyland, we find two precious pearls: Camigliatello Silano and Lorica, where mild summers, coloured autumns, whitened winters and soft springs make them magic.
All along the path, like past strongholds but soft like the present days, there are Trepidò and Mancuso villages, which open to the world like a disenchanted soul of a young boy and, just like the royal fools of the past, they radiate joy and happiness.
Like ripe and sweet chestnuts, Petilia, Mesoraca, Cotronei and Savelli appear.
Nymphs, fairies, squirrels and birds give life to the many Reserves …That of Vecchio Pino [Old Pine] is the rarest one, a precious and dear casket.
Perfect synthesis of the wide “Dark Wood”, the wonderful and majestic Centres appear … They delight visitors thanks to museums, flora and fauna.
The characters and the stories you learn all along you journey are real and not a mirage …
